Based on the novel by Paul Gallico, Flowers for Mrs Harris, the critically acclaimed musical is performing live at Riverside Studios, with olivier award-winning Jenna Russell starring as ‘Ada Harris’.
The heartwarming musical is a celebration of friendship, kindness and carrying on in the face of grief.

Wednesday 11th October – Men At Lunch @ Irish Cultural Centre
O’Cualain and Murphy’s splendidly enriching documentary is screened as part of Irish Cultural Centre’s Monthly Film Club.
The documentary tells the tale of Irish emigration behind an iconic image “Lunch atop a Skyscraper,” a photo taken during the construction of Rockefeller Centre depicting eleven workmen casually perched along a steel girder taking their lunch break.
For 80 years, the identity and stories of the eleven men and the photographer was a mystery. But at the start of the 21st century, the photograph began to give up some of its secrets. Part homage, part investigation, ‘Men At Lunch’ is the tale of an American icon, an unprecedented race to the sky and the immigrant workers that built New York.

Riverside Studios are showcasing local talent in their summer exhibition that will run until October 12th. Their goal is to create an event that is accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all, regardless of the artists’ background or experience with art and to provide a meaningful platform for the incredibly talented people living in our community.

Friday 13th October – Freya Ridings @ Eventim Apollo
Singer-songwriter, Freya Ridings, is performing her ‘Blood Orange’ Tour in Hammersmith. It is the first full scale tour in four years.

Saturday 14th October – Jack @ Lyric Hammersmith
Little Seeds Music presents Jack, a new musical for families and children.
The performance features traditional stories, original songs, live music and storytelling. Throughout the performance there will plenty of opportunities for you to join in.

Art-K provides art classes for children aged 6-18 after school, on weekends, evenings and during school holidays, as well as art classes for adults.

Following its sold-out run in the Bush’s Studio last year, Elephant is back for three weeks at Bush Theatre.
Written and performed by Olivier award nominee, Anoushka Lucas, this solo show is “a coming of age drama, a critique of colonialism, a piano gig and a love story” (Evening Standard).

If you’re a fan of stand-up comedy, comedian Kerry Godliman is performing at Bush Hall.
Kerry is a star of Mock The Week, Live at the Apollo and Taskmaster, and has also appeared on Netflix hit After Life, Hypothetical and many more.

Sunday 15th October – Chiswick Cheese Market @ Chiswick High Road
The Chiswick Cheese Market is growing in popularity, offering over 150 artisan cheeses, associated produce and kitchenalia.
This month, they are joining forces with The Academy of Cheese, who will be running their Big Cheese Weekender live from the Chiswick Cheese Market and hosting a market almost twice the size as their usual, with events, workshops, tastings and other delights available.

Saturday 21st October – Chiswick Repair Cafe @ Christ Church Turnham Green
If you have any worn or broken items, head to The Chiswick Repair Cafe, where helpful volunteers will assist you in repairing your items, teach you how to repair them, or offer advice on what can be done.
You can attend the event for free, but you will need to pay for any necessary parts. A donation towards the running costs of the cafe is also advised.
Sunday 29th October – Seance on a wet afternoon @ Chiswick Cinema
The film follows Myra Savage, a working-class British housewife who reinvents herself as a medium, hosting seances in her home with the hidden assistance of her husband, Billy. In an attempt to enhance her credibility as a psychic, Myra and her husband stage a kidnap of Amanda, the young daughter of a wealthy couple, so that Myra can help the police “find” the missing girl, solve the crime and increase her fame as a psychic.
Tuesday 31st October – Magic @ Chiswick Cinema
Directed by Richard Attenborough, Magic is a film about a magician’s assistant, Corky, who after performing disastrously at his first solo appearance, is given a ventriloquist dummy called “Fats” to improve his act. Within a few years, Corky is at the height of fame. However Fats has developed a mind of his own and wants to control Corky.
