J.W. Beeton is a family run independent lifestyle store that was originally opened in East Yorkshire in 1863, back then they specialised in selling willow products such as baskets and toys. J.W. Beeton’s London store originally opened in 1996 in Notting Hill, moving to Shepherds Bush in 2015.
Over the years the business has evolved is now the perfect place to stop in to look for new additions for your wardrobe or pick up a thoughtful gift.
Lark

Lark offers a beautiful lifestyle and home store that endeavours to support local companies, people, and products, which you’ll find in their shops. They are a multi-award winning family-run independent business.
As its popularity as a place to find the perfect gift, whoever the recipient, Lark have expanded over the last 18 years and now have several shops across London with their most recent new store being here on Askew Road.
Stuart’s London

Famous for their men’s fashion offering, Stuarts pride themselves on the luxury and heritage menswear brands carefully sourced from around the world and stocked here in Shepherd’s Bush.
Originally opened in 1967, Stuarts is perhaps best known for their contribution to the Mods and 80s Casuals subculture. Today they offer both contemporary fashion items and for those who love retro fashion they also stock a selection of vintage brands too.

‘Stylish living… naturally’ Originally opened as an online shop in 2012, following success we West Londoners can browse Griege offerings in person at their store on Bedford Corner (it’s next door to the popular Post Room café).
Griege offers an eclectic range of home and garden accessories ranging from ceramics to candles, throws and a selection of furniture and as its name suggests, many items are grey or beige in colour.
Griege is an ideal place to look for new additions for your home or to find a gift.
Damsel

Opened by Oxana Magiera in 2007, Oxana is a longstanding and cherished boutique on Turnham Green Terrace. Before opening her own store Oxana worked in retail as a buyer for many brands including Hermes.
At Oxana clients can expect beautifully curated collections by colour to enable them to build a versatile and hard-working wardrobe. Items are carefully selected for their quality to ensure they will stand the test of time as treasured items of clothing.
Oxana also sources one-off and bespoke jewellery items that can be customised. It’s easy to see why this boutique is so popular with Chiswick locals.
Lizard

IRIS Fashion

IRIS fashion is an independent boutique with four locations across London.
Born from a shared idea to bring easy, accessible fashion to their local area by Annie Pollet and Sarah Claassen in 2004, IRIS fashion aims to create timeless pieces for your wardrobe.
Following the success of their stores, they created an online store in 2013, offering their collections to a wider audience.
The collection focusses mainly on dresses and soft separates, and draws inspiration from the vintage prints, silhouettes and fabrics of the eclectic 1970’s. These collections evolve every season.
aprilmae
12 Devonshire Rd, Chiswick, London W4 2HD
Located on Devonshire Road, aprilmae is a contemporary women’s clothing store that offers a wonderful selection of designer womenswear to suit everyday and occasion wear pieces too.
The rails are filled with a diverse mix to suit all tastes and offer both style and comfort. You’ll find stripes, denim, camouflage and tie-dye, and items made from organic cotton, linen and Tencel.
A very popular outlet, aprilmae was opened by Lucy, who resides in Chiswick with her husband and two children.
Whilst the store is predominantly womenswear, by demand, they have stocked ‘mini me’ items of matching childrenswear and they have a selection of gifting items too.

With such a broad selection of independent boutiques in West London, it’s easy to see why so many locals rarely feel the need to leave the area they call home.
A shopping excursion to any of these independent boutiques is made more enjoyable by the choice of fine eateries that are dotted across the area, meaning a full day can be made of shopping local. Furthermore, on the days when there is a market such as the Chiswick Flower Market, there are even more opportunities to buy from largely local, independent retailers.
